and so i woke up at 6:30, and naturally the girls are still in dreamland. they got back at the hotel at 1 am. i took an early walk down the neighborhood since the sun is already up. it is a beautiful day here in south beach.
last night was just beautiful. we wined and dined at a trendy resto called wish. with aileen as somalier, we had about 4 bottles of wine to share. there was a lot of laughter and sighs. several toasts to good health and thanksgiving for the friendship we share. candy led a toast to knwoing all of us since she was twelve. our waitress was blown away when we told her that we have been friends since high school and we are here for our reunion/getaway.
plans were made to visit home next year, hopefully in february. me being in the education business, it's quite tricky to get a break during the middle of the school year, but feb '09 just might work. i can go home in time before my mom's 50th birthday.
i'm going back upstairs to wake up the girls now. there's a vote to try south beach before we board the ship this afternoon. london-based aileen is craving for steak and eggs.
i just hope orca won't show in the beach to get me.
